yeah sounds like a good idea, as long as you don’t have any physical limitations that would prevent you from bee keeping, it sounds like you’re in good shape.
That sounds awesome, I want to be a beekeeper too. I think you might need a few grand for startup costs though. Not sure how much the be hives and ordering the Bees would cost.
another thing is, depending on circumstances, you could keep them in your garden. Seeming as the honey bee is dieing off it would be nice to try and help them thrive again
I think it would be excellent. They are fascinating creatures, you are right, and so very necessary. Any help you can give them would be so beneficial to us all. Besides, you will have the extra benefit of genuine pure organic honey. Can’t get better than that.
Getting started can be quite expensive. Check for a local club, or your agricultural department for some advice. Perhaps you can get a hive from a neighbour without going to the cost of setting it up yourself. Be certain there are plenty of flowers for them to harvest. I don’t know how hard it would be to find a hive in the wild, but they do often branch off. If you can capture the swarm when they leave the nest, with the queen, you should be able to place them into your prepared hive. That would be the most satisfying, I think, to work with natural wild bees.
It’s a great hobby to be involved in. I started beekeeping 2 years ago and it’s really interesting and fun. I am a youngun but lots of our group are over 60, the beekeepers association for our area runs free courses for those interested in beekeeping, you can go along to find out if it’s worth investing your time and money. It’s a hobby that grows and grows.

Well, I have a phobia of bees, so I would be cautious of the black thing stickin’ out of their bums!!

No reason not to give it a go if the option is open to you.
