  3. The physical reason why bees hum is because their wings vibrate the air and make a sound at a pitch that you can hear. The wings are vibrating so fast that all you hear is a continuos noise. Bee “dance” to communicate and vary their wing flapping. It is also thought that they communicate chemically like ants.
