Visit an Apiary – a place where bee-hives are kept and speak to the beekeeper. They appear to be weird people but are quite friendly. They will give you the pro’s and con’s which should help to make up your mind. Besides, one might give you an old hive including a small swarm of bees to look after to see how you get on. It is unlikely that you could compete with the honey coming in from various sources at such a low price. Think amateur and enjoy it.
