At the rate our society is going, it wouldn’t be a shock to me if she knew everything about it. I blame the media and the popstars who call themselves “idols”.
i dont think its ‘alright’, but i definitely can see that it would happen, as for the birds and the bees, of course. a 13 yr old girl is changing, and she needs to understand why.
Young people just are much more sophisticated than they once were. I’d personally prefer if we could keep them children for longer — I think its bad for them to grow up too fast, but that’s the reality.
I think that because you cant erase her knowledge of the birds and bees or words like “sugar daddy” you just have to focus your attention on what to do next. My advice is to educate her on why abstinence is the only way to be 100% sure of avoiding STDs and pregnancy. She should know that, as used, condoms fail about 20% of the time or 1 in 5 times. And no sane person would drive a car if they knew the brakes would fail 1 in 5 times. Have your daughter check out the website below.
So what does the thirteen yesr old think one is. And what part of the birds and bees does this enquiring mind want to know? And do we still have “sugar daddies”? Ask what the 13 year old thinks one is–Do you have any of these answers? Maybe it’s info gathered from other 13 year olds. When in doubt–refer to Mom & Dad(and if all else fails point this person in the direction of say a health teacher or guidance counselor. When you’re a parent, you’ll learn that at 18 your info was limited–better to get someone trusted to work out the questions that come up than use what could be misinformaion from other kids as confused as you are. If you’re thinking this 13 year old is too knowledgable defer to someone older and trusted.
A 13 year old girl is turning into a woman. She starts to feel as she has never felt before. With all that she not only can know but she has to know about these things. She will discover those anyway but we want to make sure that she’s safe once she does. That is why parents or older sisters, brothers have to guide her!

I have a 13 and a 15 year old. They both understand the term and are fully aware of the birds and the bees. This is no problem.
