  1. The wax that they use is secreted from glands on their bellies. Don’t know what the spider web stuff is you refer to, perhaps spiders which do sometimes spin webs in the area near hives. Beekeepers with commercial hives are always attentive to the possibility that a black-widow may have set up house-keeping on the pallet or hive stand for hives.
