How do I overcomemy fear of bees?

Spring/Summer is coming and I don’t want my toddler to have this fear as well. I use to get stung alot when I was little and now I’m terrified of them. When a bee is near me, no matter how still I am, it sticks around me, lands on me, everything. When I shoo them away they come back with a vengeance.

  1. It is natural to be afraid of stinging bees.

Bees can be dangerous, or at least painful.

Some people’s chemistry just attracts them.

You can avoid flowery perfumes or carrying soda pop, candy or fruit to try to keep them away.

If your fear is beyond normal, and is a true phobia, (apiphobia by the way for bees) you could check with a local bee-keeper to see if he or she would let you suit up in a protective suit and follow them for desensitization. Or you could talk to a local mental health clinic which deals in anxiety and fears.

There are books on the subject which may help. See link.

    Best wishes!

  3. The bee is actually attracted to your delectable pheromones. You must be of royal decent because the bees are attracted to you the same way they are attracted the the queen bee. Don’t try to shoo them away just raise your hand and let them land on you and once they realize your NOT the queen or a delectable flower they thought they were they will fly away and leave you alone. You may also want to change your perfume if the bottle says Eau de Honey. And please don’t tell me your real name is HONEY!

Truthfully if you or your son have any allergic reactions to bees it’s not a laughing matter. But honey bees are great and necessary for man to live. All plants need pollination to expand or produce fruit. Honey bees are just one of Mother Nature’s pollinators but by far the most important.

You may want to take your son to a bee farm and have a bee keeper show both of you that there is nothing to fear from bees. And you never know your son may be so interested in bee keeping that he starts his own business.
