Bee Hive in the house.?

Bees started buiding a bee hive in my house in southwest corner. Is it a good or bad omen? Should I remove/disturb it?

  1. Mmm Had that happen. I have seen some big hives. It could be potentially fatal for you and your family. If you accidentally disturb a large hive you will get swarmed.

  7. as far as i know, it depends on the way/direction of the winds.

if you removed it, then you won’t get some Honey.

if you didn’t, just make sure not to disturb it, as the bees may leave the wax only.

I don’t know about being an omen, but you should be aware that they are very territorial. Having a hive in your house
would mean you would have to be very careful about mowing and just being outside in general. If you have children this could be almost a form of abuse if someone knew about the bee’s and your children being exposed to the potential harm.
Look in the Yellow Pages for a Bee Keeper. He may have to take off some of the exterior of the house to get them, but I think it would be better now than later.

  9. VERY CAREFULLY!!!! REMOVE-REMOVE-REMOVE!! preferably by profesionals. Hive will grow, not to mention the fact that
you have no clue what type of bees they are, not trying to scare, but bees have been known to cause death.

  10. I’d call that a bad one. Honey dripping down the inside of the walls in summer is a fine way to destroy your home. Check with a local beekeeper. If he can remove them, he might not even charge for the service. A swarm wanted to build a hive on my wife’s car’s left rear tire once. After spinning them off two days running, we called, and he took them away for free.

  12. Hi, I can help you I am a professional beekeeper and have removed many bee colonies from houses.

First question is for you only: Can YOU live with the bees?

They are very unlikely to harm you if you let them live there in peace. It is also unlikely they will damage your building.

It is a very bad idea to try to kill or evict the bees. Then they will get defensive and you will get hurt.

If an exterminator kills the bees, mice and other insects will move in to live off the remaining honey and you will have bigger problems.

Removing colonies is a very expensive and difficult process. It always involves dismantling part of your house (roofing, sideing, wall panels, brickwork).

As far as OMEN is concerned, you should know that having a bee colony on your property is GOOD. They only choose safe and environmentally friendly locations. They are a benefit to your yard, garden, trees and the neighborhood in general.

Forget about the honey, it is cheaper to buy than to remove. Appreciate their support of nature and learn to coexist with living things.
