That’s my garage, not a toolshed. Fortunately it is a deep garage and can double for one. Thanks pete.

why is it bad to spray sugar water ? i thought that was a good thing to do?

it is good when you are NOT using a vac because it reduces the number of fliers.
It is BAD when you do you a bee vac because they are sticky, they suck down sticky, are more likely to get hurt in the vac, but worse, clump together, overheat, and vomit honey as they die.

Great vid. Unfortunately I read your blg too late, and using sugar water I lost over half my bees, I feel terrible. In you opinion is it worthi it to buy a queen to save what is now a very small hive and 10 frames of brood? –signed, a novice

@shbehncke Yes, if you ahve 10 frames of brood, you have something worth saving. They may raise their own, but if they have lost half their bees, then small hive beetle is a big threat for you right now. Order a queen if you see no queen cells being made.

Sorry if I missed it, but I’m guessing you have covers for the screened areas to preserve your vacuum.

Now I see. One fits inside the other.

For your removable lid why not screw down some old hardware from cabinets for a handle to grab?
