i have a side porch and i think it has cedar slats all the way around under the roof, i found some bees making a few holes that i filled in with caulk but now i found about 8 more holes in a different place which i cant get to fill in as a permanant mesh screen is in the way
i spray raid on all that stuff thru the screen if i see one of *******s and ammonia at the hole but they keep at it
I currently have a wood awning covering my 12×16 patio and I’m stuck trying to decide whether to repair it, installing a new roof and updating the wood to pressure treated wood. There is some water damage and I have problems with carpenter bees nesting in the wood.
Which solution would be best, update and fix the existing wood awning, purchase a cloth retractable or purchase an aluminum awning? The difference in cost for each is within a couple of hundred dollars.

Some bees have decided to make their home in a nest right at my roof line. How do I get rid of it?
Hive located between walls of 2-story house 2′ from roof. Been there numerous years. I’ve heard of smoking them out but what do you use. If anyone interested in the bees, I’m in Texas.
