It’s not a hornet. It is large approx an inch long and black with large wings. It looks at you and then will buzz at you. It also plays tag with others that look like it and will chase and attack anything that comes near, including birds.

(Anything goes, man, let it all out)
I have heard alot of tips, but none work. Does anyone know anything effective?
My apartment is surrounded by carpenter bees. I know they ususally don’t sting you but my sister is very phobic. Sometimes she will avoid going out for a whole week to avoid the bees. The managers at the complex will not do anything to help-we asked and got a rude-they wont sting you.
Last summer I had a hard time taking my daughter out back because there were always at least a few bees on our back porch. The only thing I had growing were lillies and I didn’t have soda or candy or anything with us. Is there anything I can do to help keep the pack porch bee free?
